Weird stuff!
Seriously, did you know that there was at one time a cult in Naples, made up mostly of old women, who worship skulls that were burried in unmarked graves centuries before? You might have to create a user name to read this story at Fortean Times, but it’s worth it. You know I am a huge fan of abandoned buildings and urban exploring, so I was totally excited to find some photos of this site as well! More about the Fontanelle Cemetery here!
Mokele-mbembe! Some people believe that there are mythical creatures or possibly dinosaurs living deep in the Congo, called Mokele-mbembe. Loren Coleman over at Cryptomundo suggests that instead of giant reptiles, these creatures could be mammals, similar to rhinos. I think the idea that some dinosaurs survived much later than we realize is really cool. Coleman had another post awhile back about ancient temple art in Cambodia that resembled a dinosaur. I’ve always thought that surviving dinosaurs could have fueled dragon mythology, it would be so neat if some proof was discovered!
